Family Web - Page 2

Welcome to our Web Page!

I’m afraid it is very basic and probably will remain so for some time as all four of us contribute to its design and we can only snatch a minute or two here and there to work on it. Anyway, it’s a start.

Our big news at the moment is that we now know we are relocating to Moscow for two years. This is supposed to take place in June or July this year. When it actually does happen will depend on how long it takes to get Russian visas. Needless to say we are beginning to store up on winter woollies, look at Moscow Internet sites for homes, schools and general information, as well as listen to Russian Language tapes and drink vodka.

Life goes on.

Mike has begun his ‘new’ job, which is really an extension of what he was doing anyway as Logistics Manager for the Sakhalin Project. The good news is that until we relocate, his new office it a great deal closer to home than it was previously. He often leaves for work in daylight and often comes home before dark now!

The Spring Baseball season has began and Tim is having a great time. Especially as his team, ‘The Marlins’, are undefeated after four matches. He didn’t play last season so his skills aren’t as good as the rest of the players, but he is ‘holding his own’ and getting a hit each game.

Tim will be making his First Communion early next month so we have been shopping for some ‘special clothes’. It was expected that he would go for the navy blazer and khaki pants ‘look’ like Will did, but no, not Tim. He was most adamant that a black suit must be worn. Tim loves to wear black. We’re just glad that we could draw the line at a black shirt!

Will’s love and knowledge of computers still grows. He has built a robot from Lego and is presently programming it to follow his commands. So far he can make it walk forwards and backwards, beep, blink, turn and dance. Will has big plans and enjoys problem solving his way.

Cub Scouting plays a big part in family activities. Will and Tim love being involved in the scouting program and Sally is the Cubmaster for the Pack. So never a week goes by when someone isn’t off at a scouting activity. Recently the Pack held their annual ‘Father Son Cake Bake’ and both boys entered and won a prize. Tim for his wolf shaped cake and Will for his enormous (four packet cake mix) volcano. It was quite a night as all the scouts finished the evening by eating the cakes.

With cub scouting and volunteering here and there at school, Sally is kept busy. She still however tries to get out and horse ride once a week, which is enormous fun. We wonder if a ‘western’ saddle is going to look strange in Moscow! On the last two trail rides we have come across mares with brand new one-day-old foals bouncing around them.A beautiful Spring sight!

We hope our website finds you well,

Sally, Mike, Will & Tim
